Escorts And The Recession
Recessions seem to come around and around; and all businesses and markets are effected. The escort market is no exception. But really what is happening? Are things better for or worse for independents and agencies. The most obvious starting point is to look at clientele who book these services and how they have been affected. Are rich VIP's spending less and less? If executives have to cut back on flying in their private jets too often, does that been they cut make on the amount and frequency that they book companionship services? Well the answer is; there is no straight forward one. Certainly on all the top forums where people like to discuss the latest issues there have been a few forum threads, but with very few replies on the subject. The thing is; if it is a necessity, then people will always prioritize. If booking escorts is a priority for a gentleman, then there recession could have the flip effect. Some people turn to drink with financial woe, others gambling. Some actually turn to escorts. A kind of escape from reality, where the recession (even though bad), for the duration of an incall and outcall, can be forgotten. Then back to reality!
Well back to the question about the effect. More and more new agencies are appearing as more and more women turn to escorting to make money during the recession. So with more competition, there is an effect on the market. the new agencies and independents tend to cut their prices to be lower than their competitors. so there has been an influx of agencies who charge that bit lower, than about 18 months ago. What do the more established ones do? Should they lower their prices? It can become a mess with many giving into temptation and making their incalls / outcalls cheaper. So if you have built up a brand and reputation, it gets devalued overnight.
What About Independent Escorts?
All this talk about agencies and not so much about independent escorts. Surely they must be affected by the recession. Well independents are a whole different kettle of fish. There has been an influx of more and more women turning to escorting to pay their bills since the recession. Many have lost high earning jobs and can;t gain employment elsewhere. So they embark on this market, with little or no knowledge, hoping to learn as they go along. In any walk of life, attempting anything ... doing so without much knowledge or research will only mean you find the pitfalls quicker.
Independents always say they have it tough, so the recession just naturally makes them think everything is worse. Not all, but more independents are talking about the recession online than agencies are.
If you have time have a read of a Mail Online article about a lady who beat the last recession by becoming an escort.
