If you have been following the news and tabloids, you may have come across a story involving a London escort and an Asian cab driver. The lady in question is called Jet Black British Barbie. That is actually her real name as it is reported that she actually changed it six years back from Natalie Springer. The incident was reported to be involving her and a taxi driver. In court details of the incident were provided. There was a dispute that arose as it was reported to the taxi driver alledgedly did not thank her after she paid the fare. That basically flared her up to the point it was said that she ended up attacking him and using racially abusive language.

In court she did admit to spitting at him as well as using racially offensive remarks. However she was not jailed but instead ordered to conduct 200 hours of unpaid work which is part of her community order for the year. She has worked in the past in the adult glamour industry and now is an escort. It was noted that the escort herself has experienced racism against her in the past. Another important point is the question where tabloids pick up on certain stories and why there is a strong emphasis on certain professions people choose. Would this story have made made it into mainstream tabloids if she was not an escort? Who knows.

It seems that more and more stories of escorts being involved in incidents are making the news. Out of all the amount of similar incidents maybe they make for entertaining column inches. How many stories are reported about escorts being attacked or abused? When is the last time a story about an escort client who is being abusive to an escort has made it into the media? All anybody can do is speculate. Violence or racial abuse can never be condoned. Nobody deserves such treatment. However when you read experiences of escorts when they post on online escort forums and message boards, the type of abuse they are subjected is horrific. Where are the news reports of those incidents?
